LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2010) – Industry Intelligence Inc. announced today its participation in Pepperdine’s Education-to-Business applied learning program – a class case project of the university’s Graziadio School of Business and Management. This program provides the school’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) students with a hands-on, experiential and practical approach to “learning by doing” and gives the partner company access to additional resources and fresh insight.
The Industry Intelligence company project has been assigned to a marketing management class that has been broken into six competing teams of five MBA candidates per team. The students are tasked with the real-life marketing consulting challenge of identifying new target industries for Industry Intelligence Inc., a leading provider of market intelligence for an array of industry sectors, including forest products, real estate development/investment, and packaging.
The class will invest a trimester to research, analyze and provide recommendations to Industry Intelligence Inc. that could help the company determine what its next target industry should be and how best to enter that industry. The program was launched in the spring term (mid-January) and will run 14 weeks through April. At the end of the trimester, teams will present reports – both oral and written – to the management team at Industry Intelligence Inc. outlining a plan to enter the student’s assigned market.
“The opportunity to gain an objective, third-party perspective is invaluable in today’s business environment,” said Rami Ghandour, CEO and founder of Industry Intelligence.
Past partner companies of the E2B live case program at Pepperdine University have included The Walt Disney Co., The Coca-Cola Co., Warner Bros., the Los Angeles Times, ABC-TV, and Starbucks Coffee.
